Weekend at the Lake

Since it was Easter this past weekend, we scooted out to the lake to make the most of a long weekend! On our way out we had blizzard conditions - we were worried what we would find when we got there...Lucky for us the weather was crisp and cool, but nice enough to be outside! We opened the trailer and set up camp!

Our whole family was able to come along this time! I was sooo excited to actually have both boys and girlfriend out with us! We spent the whole weekend together and got along fine...no arguements - how great is THAT!?!?!?!

Our youngest has a little dirt bike - one that is too small for him but is his first LOVE!  As a family we decided to go on a quad ride! It was so much fun to watch our youngst son zoom around on his bike, seriously you would think he is only 5 but he is 17 this week! eeekkk It was nice to watch how considerate our oldest son was to his girlfriends safety, and it was great to see my Husband enjoy the time with the family!

We pot lucked with another friend and family - of course for Easter Dinner, we noshed on some awesome turkey, mashed potatoes, veggies, salads, and of course yummy dessert! It was a fantastic evening with friends and family! Every so often throughout the day I would cruise by the BBQ and open the lid and take a sniff of the tukey cooking...mmmmm it was delightful!

Now we are gearing up this weekend to celebrate our youngest son's 17th birthday! WHEWF where did the time go? We will be hosting the family for a BBQ on Sunday - here's hoping for good weather!!!!!!!

Soon I will bring my camera cord and update some pictures as promised awhile ago...good things come to those who wait....lol

W. B. F

A few weeks ago when the weather was actually warming up....a teeny tiny bit.... I called my bestie who likes to work out and we went for a power walk.

I LOVE to walk and don't do it near enough...so we have committed to walking on Wednesdays. This of course has turned into Wednesday Bitch Fest! While we walk on our fabulous pathways we chat, rant, rave, discuss all topics of life! Before we know it an hour and a half or two hours have gone by and we have walked 4+ km's!!!!
Seriously - the MOST FUNEST way to work out! It's like a cleansing of the soul, we listen to each other and cheer each other on!

This bestie is in FAB shape - she is a soccer player and works out, hmmm about 5 - 6 times a week. Now I can hardly peel myself off the couch 1 time a week for WBF, but cut me slack I am trying PEOPLE!!!!! I look forward to one day maybe having a body that would be a little bit even close to hers! She is not ripped and chiseled but definately super DEFINED!

So in my quest to try to get some exercise, and fresh air I continue our super fun WBF in hopes of a better healthier me....not to mention how much more sane I feel after!!!!!

Stones, Speeding and Stupidity

WOW what a week! Last week was one of those weeks you need to delete from the pages of life!

My youngest son ended up with pnemonia! I ended up super sick, sinusitis!

Then on Friday night I RUSHED my Husband to EMERGENCY with kidney stones......On the way there I was  obviously in a hurry, so I was speeding a little bit....of course I was pulled over - the nice RCMP asked me to slow down - he thought going 95 in a 50 zone was a little fast even in an emergency situation....lucky for us no ticket! Lucky for my Hubby all stones are passed and he is on his way to recovery!

Apparently my oldest son has a heavy foot too! He was graced a bit ago with a pretty little ( or not so little) speeding ticket.....well he is lazy and hasn't taken a final drivers test to get the GDL off....NOW he is the proud owner of too many demerits and will be parking his car for a month!!!!!!!  Our youngest son offered to LEND him his bike - as long as he fixed the flat tire!!!! LOL Needless to say May 12 - June 12 will be an interesting time for our carless teenager!!!!

So again I say BOYS ARE DUMB!!!!!!!!! It's really a good thing girls are SO PERFECT isn't it?!?!?! Bahahaaha Have a great day everyone!!!!

Vets, Viruses and Vietnamese

This very morning our little Harold went to the vets to get neutered! Hopefully that will stop some of the unwanted behavior - not to mention we are being responsible pet owners. Our oldest Son's girlfriend took Harold this morning and said he did great!!!! Later the vet calls and firstly - I heard "Hi this is blah blah from the animal hospital calling..." well....my heart stopped! I thought great the stupid cat died!!!!! how will I ever tell our youngest Son?!?!?!?! But much to my amazement, Harold survived and did well!!!!! (my Husband would be VERY dissappointed - he is not a cat lover)  Now I just have to pick the poor little fella up and take care of him - well our youngest will take care of him......

My baby boy is sicker than a DOG!!!! My youngest baby is so sick that he slept all day yesterday AND slept through the night! His little nose is sooo red, I picked up lotion and antibacterial kleenex for him (18.00 worth!!!! YIKES)....ahhhhh poor little fella - fevered, snotty and restless.....My baby boy is almost 17 - he is so sick he even let me rub his back 'til he fell asleep. That hasn't happened in YEARS!!!!!! When our kids are sick, it just makes me want to stay at home and cuddle them and take care of them, no matter what age they seem to be they are still my babies....

Vietnamese food is NOT my fav...I admit I am a plain Jane kinda girl when it comes to food. I do NOT branch out of anything familiar. Part of it is I know it will be safe to stick to boring - my tummy is SUPER SENSITIVE!!! Who wants to get caught in an uncomfortable situation in public!?!?!?!? But today, feeling a little like a donkey on the edge and SUPER adventurous, I dined at the Oriental Pheonix!!!! I KNOW who KNEW?!?!?!?!??! Seriously do you know how many people would be proud of me....So I didn't even know what to order on the menu, I stuck with some noodle thing with beef and spring rolls...it wasn't too bad, not my fav but I could do it once or twice a year if I HAD to.... So YAY for me for branching out!!!!!

Stay tuned to see how Harold and my sick baby are doing....riveting stuff isn't it?!?!?!?

Romantic Busy and Snowy

Well the weather was bang on! We awoke to the wonderful world of WINTER on Saturday morning!

Friday night our Company came all safe and sound. We got together with a few friends that we haven't seen for awhile, needless to say there were shits and giggles to be had by all!

Saturday our Company ventured off to their Volleyball tournament. My Hubbie slept in 'til 11! For once in forever, we went to breakfast as a family - both Son's, girlfriend and Hubbie all went to breakie - that was the best moment of the weekend. Our Company made it back to our house safe and sound.  We feasted on roast beast, potatoes and of course salad and dessert! mmmm yummy!!! Then we hunkered down for a winters nap!

Sunday we awoke to the same blizzard conditions! Our Company ventured off home carefully and ready for a long drive - turns out roads were mostly wet - whewf!!!! My Mom & Dad called and decided to come over in the afternoon for a visit, it was so nice, we chatted about this and that. Needless to say the time flew by and it was supper time! So I cooked a nice homemade lasagna and we ate as a family!

All in all it was a relaxing weekend that had it's romantic, busy, snowy, and most awesome family  moments!!!

Snow and Romance

So, as you know my Hubbie has the weekend off....did I say how excited I am about that?!?!?!?!

We have unexpected company coming to stay with us, so that puts a bit of a wrench in things - I am hoping it will work out  - fingers crossed.

My Hubbie and I have been so excited, he emailed me this morning, asking me to log into an online radio stream....they were playing our wedding song....aaaawwwww how romantic...

We are expecting a huge snow storm tomorrow and Sunday 20 -35 cm of SNOW!!!!! OMG - and we thought that Spring was in the air...well this weather rings true to the city we live in..We can see all 4 seasons in 1 DAY!!!!

So back to the romance, if it does snow like the North Pole - perhaps we will ditch all of our plans to go out - and stay at home close to the fireplace.

I am unsure how this great weekend will play out but I know no matter how it ends up...blizzards, company and romance - I am sure it will be a good one, because my Hubbie and I will be going through it together....

I  just love him a whole bunch!!!!
