Never Get Excited Over Mops

May long is always a great weekend, it defines the beginning of Summer in a camping sort of way....

This year we decided that we would stay home. Kyle house sat, Brandon and Claire went to the lake to camp on crown land and I did Spring cleaning.

Saturday I felt ripped off - I wanted so badly to sleep in but to no avail, I ended up rising and starting the day off with a bang!( at 7 AM for those that care!!!) It felt so good to finish all those little nit picky chores that you always wish you have time for. Like organizing your closet lightest to darkest; shortest to longest, it's the best when my closet and drawers are like that....( a little anal retentive lol).  I worked like a slave and secretly ENJOYED IT!!!! I get great satisfaction out of a clean/organized home!!!!

Sunday was awesome - Rob took me out for BREAKFAST!!!!! Can you believe it?! I didn't even prompt him or anything! WOO HOOO We had a great day puttering around the house together - remember NO KIDS were home all WEEKEND LONG!!!!!!  We even had a few friends over for a little shin dig!

Monday I finished up the ironing and 2 days of laundry, while Rob puttered around the house doing Boy chores! He scooted out for a few groceries and came back with a mop that I had been looking to buy but it was always out! I was sooo excited....NOTE TO THE WISE - NEVER GET EXCITED OVER MOPS....I was truly soooo excited but realized that I should NOT be....its a MOP that means that I HAVE to clean the floors ALL the time now.....But secretly I am super stoked about trying it out...

Monday night everyone came home and life was back to its usual chaotic self....Brandon and Claire came by for supper which was nice, as they are still house sitting. Kyle came home from house sitting so, as a Mom - I felt content that all my babies were safely home and my house was clean and organized.

All in All it was one of the BEST MAY LONG's in  LONG time.....

Nurried and Grunchy

Last weekend we zoomed out to the lake for a little R & R!  This time was exceptionally fun as we car pooled with our besties!!!!! It was a lot of fun, we loaded up and started off. Of course you know I had to do the when are we there, how much longer bit!  As we were getting closer to our spot my Hubbie and I were being silly and goofing around in the back seat.....he went to play punch me and I said the he was making me "nurried"...this turned into quite the giggle fest!!!! Nurried has become the new "Suism" - it is a cross between worried and nervous! My other fav word is "grunchy" - that is a cross between crouchy and grumpy!

It was a fabulous weekend with great weather, super fun and adventurous quad rides and TONS of giggles. We met a neat young couple that moved in next to my besties lot - BIG trailer - 40 ft with 3 slides...OMG it even has 2 ceiling fans and a fireplace! I look forward to having a season full of laughs and sun, and relaxation!

To my besties - thanks for a FANTASTIC FUN weekend, I adore and respect each of you so very much! Again I raise my glass to the 2 of you whom I hold close to my heart!

Mother's Day, Tears and Penguins

Happy Mother's Day to all the best Mother's in the WORLD!!!!!!

My Mom started a tradition a few years ago now. She hosts a brunch at her house and we all bring something and all the BOYS COOK! I think it was a fabulous idea! Since my Sister, Mom and I run our families on a regular basis it is really fantastic to have the Grandson's, Father's and Gramps cook us breakie while we get to sit in the living room and do NOTHING!

Each event my boys and Hubbie usually give me a gift that will bring tears to my eyes! And this year is no different! I started with a really cool clothes dryer! I know -  its a fold out one that I put in my spare room to dry my delicates and special work clothes! I was truly EXCITED about it - then I realized how pathetic that is! Oh well (still really excited about it).  Kyle wrapped my new sunglasses in regular white paper and wrote all over it, it was ADORABLE! He wrote a joke on it....what is black and white and red all over....I of course thought a book...but.....wait for it......A PENGUIN WITH A SUNBURN!!!!! bahahahahhahaa So any who.... He also wrote me a card that so special to me....it ended with PS sorry I had no money - I'll give you hugs.....That is when the water works started....I must say it was a very nice Mother's Day - Thank you to my boys who always seem to make me feel like the BEST MOM in the WORLD! The truth is, my boys make it easy to be a MOM!

Try, Try again

Since our youngest son has turned 17 he decided it was time to venture into the world and try for his driver's license.

We were practising driving this week and last night his older brother decided he needed some "brotherly advise."  Our oldest came along for yet another practise run! It was so nice to hear him help and guide his little brother! Our oldest was so extremely supportive and helpful to our youngest was awesome.

Off to his driver's test this morning and after much dissappointment Kyle will need to try again! That is sooo dissappointing! You feel like kicking something cute when that happens!

The bittersweet of it all is we are going to pick up his new car tonight! My Hubbie and I bought our oldest a car so in turn we will do the same for Kyle! He lucked out he will be the proud owner of an 2005 Pontiac Grand AM, power everything including a SUNROOF!!!!!! He is over the moon about it...

To back track....Earlier this week we heard of a great deal on a car, we new Kyle was gearing up for his drivers and decided to go take a look. Kyle and I met my Hubbie at the dealerhsip and let Kyle sit in the driver's seat! I told him to start it and he was surprized! Then they took it for a test drive with Kyle DRIVING!!!! He came back with the biggest smile on his face - priceless!!!!! We were showing him his options and he decided the silver Grand AM was the one he really had to have. Now you must understand my Kyle - he asks for NOTHING EVER!!!! He firstly could hardly believe he could even be considering such a nice car, he really didn't even want to tell us he truly liked the Grand AM! I had to come right out and tell him we didn't want to buy a car he didn't like - that is when - only when he spoke of his preference! What a great guy!!! That is why I LOVE him so much - he NEVE R takes anything for granted!!!! So tonight will be a super fun memorable one for my Kyle! I will be taking pictures of him and his new car like a tourist!

So here's hoping to Kyle's next try - so he can drive his very cool new WHEELS!!!! I am sure he will succeed next time.....

Giggles, WBF and Mother's Day

It is sunny and warm FINALLY!!!! We are having a great sun shiny day today and all the girls in the office are giddy with excitement!

Today is W.B.F. day with my bestie whom is in FAB shape - sooo can't wait to go for our power walk and get some serious exercise in the warm weather....I love walking with her, as I have stated before it is a BLAST!!!!

At lunch one of my fav co-workers and I went for a little peak in the shops by our downtown office! OMG there are soooo many adorable, must have, gotta have things!!!!! It was hard for us to restrain!  I can tell I will have a stack of things purchased sitting at my desk unable to bring home! Must remember to sneak items in the house, and of course I have had that FOREVER!!!!! if my Hubbie ever asks.....lol

My other co-worker and I share the same space, and can get a little chatty at times! Sort of like today when it is beautiful outside, with our office windows open, sun shining in - it's hard to focus on WORK!!!!! We have had a few giggles and are discussing reorganizing our closets, furniture and are making plans for Mother's Day!

Speaking of Mother's Day - my oldest Son, is going to detail my vehicle for me...I soooo can't wait! He has offered to stay late at his work and detail my car! He knows how much I LOVE a clean car, but I never make time for that.....It was quite cute - he was feeling a bit sheepish thinking it wasn't a good gift because it didn't cost anything...I think it will be one of the best gifts I've EVER received.....

Happy Mother's Day to all...hope you are treated like Royalty!!!!

Birthday Mania

My youngest turned 17 on the 28th!!!! How in the world did that happen? Seriously wondering where all the time went and wonder how I got old enough to have an 18 year old and a 17 year old!!!!!

My youngest child is VERY level headed...he is so fantastic under pressure it is great, he doesn't like attention drawn to him either. (Complete opposite of my oldest) My "little one" whom I affectionately call....is taller than I and so much more cooler than I......

He is very into computers and gaming - so for his birthday we decided to give cold hard CASH - that way he could buy whatever "stuff" he wanted for his games and computer...My Hubbie and I are very ILLITERATE when it comes to that "stuff." So on Saturday, we ventured off to the special store... it was FANTASTIC to see him in his ELEMENT! He totally understood and knew what everyone was talking about...he new exactly what he wanted and confidentially went to the counter and asked....then at the last minute he decided he really did want the new $80.00 RAT!!!!! (it's a really cool looking mouse) He walked out of that store on cloud 9....

I am happy to say he was spoiled by all and enjoyed the cold hard cash - so he could purchse his treasured "stuff" I would also like to say how very very proud I am to be his MOM - he is one cool kid who really has it together. He is not afraid to be different, he is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in, he is not afraid to hang out by himself and enjoy just plain quiet! I think he is one of the coolest 17 year olds I have EVER met. I love him to death and couldn't imagine my life without my "Kylie the bear" AKA my "little one" AKA my youngest Son Kyle.

To you my darling - Happy Birthday! I hope it was everything you ever wished it to be......MOM

ALSO - it was my most fav bestie's birthday on the 30th! Like I said, birthday mania....She is going through an interesting  and difficult time in her life with a cancer ridden Father, and working 24/7! It has been an uphill battle for her and she is definately on the STRESS DIET!!!!! One I do NOT reccommend. Even through all this she handles her self with GRACE and POISE - looking well put together, confident and in control! I can only imagine how she does it?!?!?! If I am going through hell I look like HELL!!!!!! So I hope our little gathering on Saturday night was a reminder of how LOVED and TREASURED she truly is! I raise my glass to you my darling! I hope your friendship lasts another 17 years or MORE!!!!!! Hugs to you...xxxx
